They create nearly 80% of new jobs.,Yvette has a business that connects poor farmers to,to markets and consumers, helping them earn a steady income,while improving crop production and quality.,Yvette dreams of growing her business, but she is stuck in the “pioneer gap.”,Her business is too big for a microloan.,Banks and investors see her as too risky,so she can’t access the tools she needs to grow.,USAID helps bridge this gap with the Partnering to Accelerate Entrepreneurship Initiative.
PACE brings together impact investors, business incubators and accelerators,to increase the amount of private finance available to early-stage enterprises,while helping entrepreneurs like Yvette learn new skills.,Like how to raise capital, create compelling business plans,and improve their operations.,As a result, Yvette’s business attracted global investors.,She has grown from working with 300 farmers to more than 3,000,connecting them with 15 supermarkets around Kenya,,and raising their incomes by $500 per year.,Together with 40 partners in the U.S.and around the globe,USAID is helping entrepreneurs like Yvette grow their businesses,,leading to more prosperous communities and economies.
